Taught by Studio Ranj, you'll learn how to use the 'kintsugi' technique of ceramic repair.

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramic by mending with a mixture of resin and gold-coloured powder, reborn into a piece that would be otherwise destined for the bin. This kit is perfect for anyone looking to benefit from the healing & symbolic process of kintsugi or looking to repair much-loved pieces from their collection in a unique and beautiful way.

"Kintsugi represents healing, resilience, and restoration." (BMJ Journal)

Please note that this is for decorative use only and is not food safe

What's in the kit?

  • 1 x PDF step-by-step guide on kintsugi by Studio Ranj
  • 1 x size 6 brush
  • 1 x pair of adhesive bonding epoxy (please note Araldite brand shown in picture but products may vary)
  • 1 x 100g pot of gold decorative dust
  • 1 x adhesive applicator stick
  • 1 x 5g putty portion
  • 1 x plastic gloves

Please note due to the fast-drying adhesive component of this Kit, this product is not recommended for children and only ever to be used with adult supervision.

Online demos with Studio Ranj will also be available later on in the year. Be sure to sign up to our newsletter so you'll know when they're coming up!

How is this Kintsugi lesson taught?

You’ll receive a detailed printed guide in your kit that gives instructions on every step you need to in order to create your kintsugi masterpiece, plus additional tips and tricks.

What else do I need?

Everything you need to repair ceramics using the Japanese “kintsugi” method is included in this kit. You only need some broken pottery of your own to work with (or an unwanted pot to break) and you do not need a kiln.

Kintsugi kit

I used the kit to fix a gothic type chalice that snapped at the stem. The instructions were easy to follow and the mend looks fantastic.
