Through detailed step-by-step instructions, learn how to whittle your own sustainable plant labels with seasoned woodcarver and author, Peter Benson.
The reusable plant labels can be made in the style of your choice, and can be used for sowing seeds or potting plants.
Peter says, "Often when I am in the greenhouse or garden, I sow seeds or pot up plants and then search for suitable labels. Usually, I find only broken ones or ones that have been used before. Consequently, I started to carve labels from wooden sticks."
This course is suitable for anyone experienced in woodcrafting.
Peter Benson started carving shortly after the end of WWII, on his way home to London after being an evacuee in the Suffolk countryside. On this retirement in 1996, Peter set up the Essex School of Woodcarving, where he lives with his wife Em and their dog Chance. When Peter is not writing for woodcarving journals, much of his time is spent teaching classes and holding workshops.
