Repurpose your old books into intricate paper decorations with designer maker, Clare Youngs.
Using simple step-by-step instructions and illustrations, Clare shows you how to create these festive paper tassels, which can be hung on painted silver and white twigs for a pretty and unusual festive display.
This project is part of our 24 Days of Advent series and is taken from Book Art by Clare Youngs, published by CICO Books (£12.99).

Thoroughly enjoyed making this but would advise that you need to go through to make sure that you make the required number of beads, disc, tassel in advance of making up the finished decoration. I used plain paper to start before using old book paper and also beading wire as I could not get any florist wire but it worked out well. When I make up more I will be using older paper or a combination of colours to match our christmas theme this year. I am going to try making some and adding a string of battery operated lights when I hang them in the window. Will be buying the book to try out more items.
