Learn how to make your own hand-embroidered, multi-purpose baby blanket, inspired by the Bengali kantha tradition
Create a hand-embroidered, multi-purpose baby blanket for a special little someone in your life.
'Kantha' refers to the Bengali tradition of mothers repurposing their old cotton saris into ultra-soft, multi-layered blankets for their babies - the lovely embroidery stitch applied over the top is known as 'kantha stitch'.
In line with this beautiful tradition, we invite you to use fabric that has sentimental value to you to create your multi-layered blanket.
Every workshop purchase supports our social enterprise mission, creating opportunities for mothers in Bangladesh to provide for their children with dignity.
You can purchase access to the workshop through Khushi Kantha's crowdfunding campaign - just click here.
