I am Jane George and in July 2020 my husband Anthony and I lost our 19-year-old son Llŷr to mental health. In order to cope with my grief, I started knitting.
Our purpose is to raise as much money as possible for mental health charities by making and selling products, handmade with love by volunteers from all across the country. Wherever possible, we use yarn donated to us. At the same time, we want to improve the mental health of both our creative volunteers and our customers by sharing the ‘2 wolves story’ and creating an inclusive community where creativeness is encouraged and every voice is heard.
We are fundraisers for mental health charities and for every pair of gloves purchased a minimum of £11 will be distributed to various mental health charities chosen by knitformentalhealth.
As each pair has been made with love by volunteer knitters from across the country, there may be slight variation in size, style and shade.
Material: mixed fibres and wool
Delivery info: the wrist warmers will be posted Royal Mail second class.
I was touched by Jane's story as I follow Dr Alex on Twitter. We also lost our brother to suicide in April 2019 and the subject of mental health awareness is very close to our heart.
These mittens are a lovely idea and I hope the knitting has helped you in your grief and to also raise much needed funds for this cause. Please everyone buy these as they are beautiful. Thank you.
