Learn how to make great charcoal art at Clerkenwell Design Week

Charcoal artist Richard Rochester will be taking up residence at Bespoke furniture company Staverton's new showroom during Clerkenwell Design Week, 21st-23rd May. 

Visitors will have the opportunity to learn and practice charcoal drawing techniques through daily workshops. Richard will also present a talk on the role of landscape art in the workplace, and his approach to creating large-scale artworks for office spaces. Find out how charcoal drawing can benefit your wellbeing with hands-on practice, and the importance of artwork in professional settings. 

Staverton, who has a long history of bespoke office furniture design and high-quality craftsmanship, celebrate the launch of their new showroom during the 10th anniversary of Clerkenwell Design Week with a programme of free events designed to inspire, educate and entertain.

About Richard Rochester

Richard Rochester is a Devon based fine artist who works extensively with charcoal. He was formally trained in Fine Art at the Exeter College of Art and Design before joining the military for 18 years. Having left military service in 2012, Richard now focusses his full attention on art.

Over the years he has pushed the boundaries of charcoal as a drawing medium and he now delivers regular talks and workshops where he enjoys sharing his passion and knowledge with others.
