Repair denim with visible mending

Let your creativity flow whilst upskilling your textile techniques in this workshop that is mindful, sustainable, and fun.

Sashiko is a beginner-friendly style of stitching originating from Japan that is both decorative and practical. Originally used as a way of reinforcing points of wear on clothes to make them both warmer and more durable, the method has evolved to incorporate designs both traditional and modern.

In this workshop, you'll learn Sashiko-style stitching and repair which uses a simple running stitch to create patterns that can help to patch up your worn-out clothes. We will start with surplus denim to create a simple test sampler, or you’re welcome to bring your own denim to work on. As you gain confidence with this fun stitching technique, you will quickly find ways to add your own unique spin with the many patterns you’ll create.

Learn new skills whilst building team morale and take away a set of sample denim and other materials to continue your mending journey at home.
