Clerkenwell Design Week: Workshop & Talk Highlights
For the 10th Clerkenwell Design Week, Yodomo partnered with select showrooms to host a series of creative events.
Transforming the quiet streets of EC1 into a vibrant design hub, this year's Clerkenwell Design Week featured an extensive programme of exhibitions, talks, workshops and showroom parties. Visitors went home with new sources of inspiration, and in the cases of those who visited our workshops, also with handmade works of art.
At the newly opened Staverton showroom, charcoal artist Richard Rochester gave an informative talk about the importance of landscape art in the workplace and how hands-on practice benefits wellbeing. In daily workshops, he explained his approach to large-scale and immersive charcoal works and the various techniques to use in charcoal drawing. Visitors had the opportunity to roll up their sleeves and create their own works of charcoal art through Richard’s guidance.
Over at Shaw Contract, design duo Rupert and Abi Meats of RUDE Design explored the theme of FLOW, sharing their insight into how colour can inform the way which people interact with interior spaces. Around this theme, RUDE facilitated daily workshops where participants could make colourful and striking montage posters using paper provided by G.F. Smith.
